We would like to recognize our colleagues across the country who share our vision of clinical excellence and patient empowerment in diabetes care and who continue to inspire and challenge us to reach higher. They are the ones who share our passion to confront this disease and bring our very best to those patients on their journey with prediabetes and diabetes.

We want to thank the American Diabetes Association (ADA) for continuing to recognize the important role of the nurse and other health-care providers in the care of the person with diabetes. A heartfelt thank you goes to the dedicated members of the ADA staff who provided countless hours and incredible expertise in making the third edition of this book a reality.
