I last communicated directly with you 18 months ago in the January 1992 issue of Diabetes Care—the first issue of the journal under the editorial direction of the Pittsburgh Group. That editorial was written at poolside in late August 1991 as the hand-over process from Dr. David Robbins and his excellent group of associate editors began.
