In the print version of the article listed above, the A1C range in IFCC units (mmol/mol) is not correct in Table 2.3, “Categories of increased risk for diabetes (prediabetes),” on page S16. The A1C range is listed as 5.7–6.4% (39–46 mmol/mol). The correct range is 5.7–6.4% (39–47 mmol/mol).

The same error occurs in the text on page S15. The section reads: “Hence, it is reasonable to consider an A1C range of 5.7–6.4% (39–46 mmol/mol) as identifying individuals with prediabetes. As with those with IFG and/or IGT, individuals with an A1C of 5.7–6.4% (39–46 mmol/mol) should be informed of their increased risk for diabetes and CVD and counseled about effective strategies to lower their risks.” The correct sentence is: “Hence, it is reasonable to consider an A1C range of 5.7–6.4% (39–47 mmol/mol) as identifying individuals with prediabetes. As with those with IFG and/or IGT, individuals with an A1C of 5.7–6.4% (39–47 mmol/mol) should be informed of their increased risk for diabetes and CVD and counseled about effective strategies to lower their risks.”

The online version reflects these changes.
