Submit Artwork for the Cover of Diabetes Care
If diabetes has had an impact on your life, whether you have diabetes or care for someone who has diabetes, please consider submitting your original artwork for publication on the cover of an issue of Diabetes Care
If selected, your art could grace our cover and other ADA materials. Send us your work along with a short bio and a caption that tells the story behind your creation and the medium you used (oil paint, photography, watercolors, etc.).
Artwork submissions do not need to be tied to a specific article in the journal or related to a diabetes topic; selection is completely independent from manuscript submission and the peer review process. Diabetes Care will consider images of artwork of any subject or medium, based on the conditions outlined below.
The art must be an original work of which you are the artist. If the artwork was created digitally and/or using artificial intelligence, please include the program and/or prompt(s) used. For quality reproduction, ADA will ask for selected images to be provided in TIFF or EPS format, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi, no larger than 2MB.
For examples of recent Diabetes Care cover art, visit the Issue Archive.
Cover image submissions should be sent to Larissa Pouch, Editorial Peer-Review Manager, with a caption describing the image and medium and complete credit information (e.g., image of an oil painting titled... contributed by...). Please also send a short biography describing how you or your artwork is connected to diabetes.
If your article is chosen to appear on a future cover of Diabetes Care, we will work with you to publish a short biography, along with your photo, in the issue on which your artwork appears. Examples of artist biographies are free to access in each current issue of the journal.
