DCCT-EDIC 40th Anniversary Collection

This collection from the 47/9 issue of Diabetes Care celebrates the longstanding Diabetes Control and Complications Trial (DCCT) and its follow-up, the Epidemiology of Diabetes Interventions and Complications (EDIC) study. It includes an editorial honoring the participants and researchers and five articles with the latest findings from DCCT/EDIC. The topics are diverse and include diabetes risk factors and bone microarchitecture in type 1 diabetes, neuropathic pain with and without peripheral neuropathy, kidney tubular biomarkers and their links to macroalbuminuria and low eGFR, intensive glycemic management and retinal structure, and plasma biomarkers of brain injury associated with MRI findings and cognitive function.
