Renal Papillary Necrosis: Eight-year Survival of a Diabetic

A case of eight years' survival of a diabetic patient after a well-documented episode of renal papillary necrosis has been presented. While several cases of long survival after papillary necrosis in nondiabetics who overuse analgesics have been reported, prolonged survival of a diabetic is apparently quite rare.
