Influence of Choline Deficiency upon the Hyperlipemia of Alloxan-Diabetic Rats

In seventeen rats with hyperlipemia of alloxan diabetes, the omission of choline from the diet for three weeks resulted in lower levels of total esterified fatty acids in plasma than in preceding and succeeding periods when choline was provided. Choline did not appear to affect the diabetic state since neither the concentrations of urinary glucose or nitrogen were altered under these experimental conditions.
