One hundred and forty-two diabetics, 163 blood bank donors, ten patients with carcinoma of the pancreas, ten patients with chronic pancreatitis, six patients with acute pancreatitis, and a number of patients with miscellaneous diagnoses were tested for evidence of isoantibodies to the pancreas using the tanned cell hemagglutination technic as described by Boyden, the test tube precipitin method, the Ouchterlony gel-diffusion method or a combination of these. None showed isoantibodies to pooled human pancreas. Further investigation of this problem is warranted.
