In this article, there was a mistake in the assembly of Fig. 4. The image files shown in panels E–H of Fig. 4 are the same of those shown in panels A–D of Fig. 5, as they both refer to the immunostaining of carboxymethyllysine (CML). Instead, the immunostaining of collagen IV should be presented in Fig. 4E–H and the immunostaining of CML in Fig. 5A–D, as correctly reported in the figure legends. The correct Fig. 4 is provided below.
