On the cover: The diphenylbutylpiperidine class of drugs has a natural attraction to succinyl CoA:3-ketoacid CoA transferase (SCOT), an essential enzyme in ketone oxidation that is upregulated in type 2 diabetes; the interaction between the two restrains SCOT’s enzymatic activity.
