On the cover: Zachary Freyberg, of the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA, conceived the design. The image was generated using Microsoft Designer based on the following prompt: “Escher-like staircase connecting the brain and pancreas with 2 lines of people walking up and down the staircase to emphasize their interconnectedness.” The article “Development of Novel Tools for Dissection of Central Versus Peripheral Dopamine D₂-Like Receptor Signaling in Dysglycemia” appears in this issue of Diabetes (p. 1411). The image highlights interconnected Escher-like staircases that connect the brain and pancreas with no clearly delineated beginning or end. This is meant to symbolize the central finding of the article, namely, that the brain and pancreas are interconnected and these connections govern how metabolism is fundamentally regulated.
