Reports from the GRADE Study

The Glycemia Reduction Approaches in Diabetes: A Comparative Effectiveness Study (GRADE) compared several classes of glucose-lowering agents for people with type 2 diabetes already being treated with lifestyle intervention and metformin. Its purpose was to provide guidance in selecting second-line therapy for individuals in this important group, which had not previously been evaluated in a large, long-term comparative effectiveness study. GRADE also assessed medical outcomes, the incidence of side effects, and several psychosocial and behavioral measures. This new collection of articles prepared by the GRADE investigators may aid decisions in clinical practice on how to best match treatment options to the needs of each person.

You can also access a special episode of the Diabetes Care "On Air" Podcast, featuring co-hosts Alice Cheng and Michael Rickels. This episode focuses on a Special Collection of articles in the April issue of Diabetes Care.
