Special Edition: A Focus on Obesity
In this special podcast series on obesity, Neil Skolnik, MD, and Sara Wettergreen, PharmD, BCACP, BC-ADM, meet with the foremost experts in the world on obesity research, medicine, and treatment to discuss a wide array of topics related to the effective management of overweight and obesity. "A Focus on Obesity" is a collaborative project of the American Diabetes Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians. The series presents seven total podcast episodes that delve deep into the multifaceted nature of obesity, treating it not just as a lifestyle issue but as a complex, chronic disease requiring a nuanced approach to management.
Four of the seven episodes will be presented via Diabetes Core Update, ADA’s podcast for primary care. These episodes will cover topics of interest for family physicians, primary care clinicians, and other health care professionals, including the latest research, clinical strategies, and interdisciplinary approaches to treating obesity. The other three episodes will be presented via Diabetes Day by Day; ADA’s podcast for people with diabetes and their caregivers. These episodes will focus on practical guidance and strategies to empower people with obesity with the knowledge and tools to actively participate in their treatment plan.
