Denis Daneman, MB, BCh, FRCPC, obtained his medical degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, and then completed his residency in pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania.
He is a professor of pediatrics at the University of Toronto and chief of the Division of Endocrinology at the Hospital for Sick Children. He is also associate chief of clinical research in the Research Institute at the Hospital for Sick Children.
His major research interest is defining factors affecting metabolic control and the early stages of complications in children and teens with type 1 diabetes.
