Judith Wylie-Rosett, EdD, RD, is a professor of epidemiology and social medicine and head of the Division of Health Behavior and Nutrition at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, N.Y. She is also director of the Translation and Effectiveness Core of Einstein’s Diabetes Research and Training Center and an investigator in its Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Dr. Wylie-Rosett earned her master’s degree and doctorate from Columbia University Teachers’ College in New York. Her research has included clinical trials and other studies that address translation of care recommendations into health care for people with diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and obesity. She has served as an investigator in the Diabetes Control and Complications Trial, the Diabetes Prevention Program, the Women’s Health Initiative, and several federally funded hypertension trials.
She is the author of the American Diabetes Association books The Complete Weight Loss Workbook, its accompanying Leader’s Guide, and 101 Tips on Weight Loss. She has also worked with the American Heart Association and the Diabetes Care and Education Practice Group of the American Dietetic Association to address care recommendations and translation of research into practice.
