Anne Daly, MS, RD, BC-ADM, CDE, has 25 years of experience as a diabetes clinician, educator, author, and lecturer. She is the immediate past President, Health Care & Education, of the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and represents the ADA on the American Nurses Credentialing Center/American Association of Diabetes Educators Content Expert Panel for the Board Certified—Advanced Diabetes Manager credential.
Ms. Daly cofounded the Springfield Diabetes & Endocrine Center in Springfield, Ill., where she practices with one endocrinologist, seven certified diabetes educators, and two advanced practice nurses. As director of Nutrition & Diabetes Education, she manages an ADA-recognized education program and a comprehensive weight management program.
Ms. Daly has received numerous awards, including the ADA’s Rachmeil Levine Award for Distinguished Service, Outstanding Educator in Diabetes Award, and Outstanding Legislative Activity Award, as well as Outstanding Dietitian of the Year from the Illinois Affiliate of The American Dietetic Association and the Distinguished Service Award from the Diabetes Care and Education Practice Group of The American Dietetic Association.
She is coauthor of the newly released ADA book 101 Weight Loss Tips to Prevent and Treat Diabetes.
Davida F. Kruger, MSN, APRN, BC-ADM, has been a certified nurse practitioner in diabetes for the past 20 years. She is chair of the ADA Research Foundation and serves on the ADA Research Policy Committee. She is also a past President, Health Care & Education, of ADA.
Board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in both primary care and advanced diabetes management, Ms. Kruger is a nurse practitioner at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Mich., where her role includes both clinical practice and research. She has been a principal investigator on a number of research projects and has written widely on diabetes care, including the book The Diabetes Travel Guide, published in 2000.
Her awards include the ADA’s Rachmeil Levine Award for Distinguished Service and Outstanding Service in Diabetes Research Funding Award and the Nightingale Award for Excellence in Research from the Oakland University School of Nursing in Rochester, Mich.
