Naomi Chaytor, PhD, ABPP, is a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist and associate professor in the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine at Washington State University in Spokane. She earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Washington State University, completed a predoctoral internship in neuropsychology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Tex., and served a postdoctoral fellowship in rehabilitation and neuropsychology at the University of Washington in Seattle.
Dr. Chaytor’s research is focused on older adults with type 1 diabetes and includes cognitive risk factors for severe hypoglycemia and other indicators of disease self-management. Her other research interests include cognitive, quality-of-life, and emotional outcomes associated with the use of an artificial pancreas system in adults with hypoglycemia unawareness and cognitive and emotional predictors of outcomes in chronic kidney disease. In previous research studies, she has investigated the ability of neuropsychological tests to predict meaningful real-world functioning across patient groups and tested self-management interventions in patients with chronic neurological disease.
