PATTI URBANSKI, MEd, RD, LD, CDCES, is a certified diabetes care and education specialist and clinical dietitian with the St. Luke’s Diabetes Care Program in Duluth, MN. As a member of the American Diabetes Association (ADA) Nutrition Scientific Review Committee, she was responsible for evaluating the evidence regarding eating patterns for diabetes management and was a coauthor of the ADA’s 2019 “Nutrition Therapy for Adults With Diabetes or Prediabetes: A Consensus Report.” She also served on the writing committee for the 2013 ADA position statement “Nutrition Therapy Recommendations for the Management of Adults With Diabetes.”

Ms. Urbanski currently serves on the ADA’s Professional Practice Committee and is a former member of its board of directors. She is also a past chair of the Diabetes Dietetic Practice Group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and is a frequent author and speaker on topics related to healthy living with diabetes.
