Data are mean ± SD. Subjects are divided according to gender. The first set of four columns relates to the previously intensively managed cohort, and the second set relates to the group previously receiving conventional diabetes management. P = univariate analysis. P1 = ANCOVA: dependent variable is specified lipid, lipoprotein or apolipoprotein, independent parameter is gender, adjusted for age, duration of diabetes hypertension, HbA1c, BMI, WHR, and AER in each DCCT randomization group.
